I started planning my escape
Today
From this life
I've carly crafted
And dutifully served
Piece by piece
I duplicated everything
I would need
To run away
All the most
Necessary accoutrements
For a journey into the unknown
I leave them in a bag
By my bedside
Waiting
For the moment I just
Break free
But that's a story
For tomorrow
Always
Tomorrow
If anyone asks
I'm (vacation)
Ready
The Absence of Meaning by Poetically-Yours, literature
Literature
The Absence of Meaning
The Absence of Meaning
I waited
In the darkness
Of my light
Between breaths
Between these dreams
Inside the
Purgatory of
Hope
While the stars
Bowed away
And the night
Slipped past
The exits
I waited
Long after
Time had lost
Its sands
And the hourglass
Cracked and lost
Still waiting
Inside
This ciphered nothing
Only the notion
Of arrival
Exists
Try to measure hope or measure despair.
Try to balance honors, degrees, and there
will be empty scales with unsteady hands
clapping to a bare stage from vacant stands.
The raucous lauding heard by absent ears
or laughter and pride swelling empty tears
for nothing deserved and nothing desired
but the opportunity to be admired.
